潘峰是中国第32期援桑给巴尔医疗队的厨师,他在万里之外的印度洋海岛,用一道道“因地制宜”的中式饭菜慰藉了援外队员们思乡之心。
奔巴岛是桑给巴尔国群岛的第二大岛,地势、气候、物产与国内相差很大。岛上主打“土豆、洋葱、茄子”这三样,没有绿叶蔬菜,还存在调味品单一等情况。在南京基地培训时,潘大厨就反复和老队员们沟通,要利用好奔巴岛的菜地,自己栽种蔬菜。出发时,别人都是准备生活用品,他考虑的则是瓜果蔬菜的种子、菜谱图书,他行李箱中更是带了不少国外没有的调味品。
潘峰勤善于创新,他通过网络、奔巴岛驻地图书馆里的菜谱(这是一个好传统,奔巴岛驻地历届队员都从国内带来了大量的菜谱和蔬菜栽种书籍)等等,根据奔巴岛鱼类丰富、牛羊肉多、穆斯林食品禁忌等特点,因地制宜,用中式烹饪方法做出了丰富菜式,饭菜可口而且营养均衡。
队员们每个人口味、饮食习惯不相同,酸甜咸辣各有所爱。潘峰为了满足大家的需求,兼顾个性化需求,平时注意了解队员的个人饮食喜好,不断变换口味、搭配菜品让大家吃饱、吃好。平时不论哪位队员过生日,他都会精心做一桌精美的菜肴,让队员们深深地体会到家的温暖。
医疗队驻地有桑岛队员来联合巡诊或是接待祖国亲人的时候,大家都盼望着到“奔巴岛小院”的“潘氏私房菜”吃饭,这时他的工作量会比平时翻上几倍,往往提前两周他就开始精心列好菜单、准备食材,保证到时一道道精心制作的美味佳肴呈现在客人面前,每次都能让大家大快朵颐,赞不绝口。
援外医疗队除了日常的医疗工作,队员们还要深入乡村进行义诊。潘峰每次都参加外出义诊,协助整理义诊场地、搬运物资、发放宣传材料、摄像拍照,努力为队员们做好后勤保障工作。每次义诊结束回到基地后,在大家休息时,潘大厨又迅速为大家准备好了热气腾腾的饭菜。
潘峰,医疗队的多面手,奔巴岛岛上的“变形金刚”。菜刀,螺丝刀,镰刀,剃头刀,很多都是他的“武器”。他通过一日三餐,在万里之外为队员们营造了一个温馨的家,让队员们安心地圆满完成援外任务。
The generalist on Pemba Island
Pan Feng is the chef of the 32nd Chinese medical team of Zanzibar. In the Indian Ocean island thousands of miles away, he ensured the health of the medical team members with the Chinese meals, and also to comfort the homesickness of the team members to some extent.
Pemba is the second largest island in the Zanzibar Islands, mountainous and hilly, and its climate is very different from that in China. There are always "potato, onion, eggplant", no green leafy vegetables, and also a single condiment. During the training in Nanjing base, Chef Pan repeatedly communicated with the old team members to make good use of Benba's vegetable field and plant his own vegetables. When he set out, others are preparing for life, he considers the seeds of fruits and vegetables, recipes and books. His suitcase is with a lot of condiments and vegetable seeds not available abroad. Across thousands of miles of mountains and seas, just to make a pot of delicious Chinese food for the team members.
Pan Feng is diligent in thinking and is good at innovation. Through the network, the pemba resident library recipes (this is a good tradition, the resident successive players from domestic brought a lot of recipes and vegetables planting books), etc., according to the rich fish, beef and mutton, Muslim pork taboo characteristics, adjust measures to local conditions, with Chinese cooking method made rich dishes, guarantee the food delicious, balanced nutrition.
Each of the team members has different tastes and eating habits,such as sour, sweet, salty, and spicy. In order to meet their needs and take into account their personalized needs, Pan Feng payed attention to an in-depth understanding of the personal food preferences of the team members, and constantly changed their tastes and matched dishes so that everyone can eat well and eat well. Usually no matter which team member’s birthday, he will elaborate a table of exquisite dishes, so that the team members deeply feel the warmth of home.
when medical team members from Zanzibar island came to Pemba for joint inspection ,or there were reception missions to the motherland relatives, due to the different eating habits on the island, we can only serve them at "the Pembar yard" or "pan private food" to eat. He often began to elaborate menu and prepared ingredients two weeks in advance for guaranteeing delicacies present in front of the guests.Then his workload was several times than usual.Every time , the guests were full of praise.
In addition to the daily medical work, the team members also went to the countryside for free medical treatment. Every time, Pan Feng took the trouble to go out for the free clinic, working hard and doing the dirty work. He assisted in sorting out the free clinic site, carrying materials, distributing publicity materials, photographing, and striving to do a good job in logistics support for the team members. At the end of the free clinic back to the base, during the rest, Chef Pan always had no rest and quickly prepared the steaming meal for everyone.
Pan Feng is a generalist of the medical team, also the "Transformers" on Pemba Island. Many tools ,such as Kitchen knives, screwdrivers, sickles, razor ,are his "weapons". Behind the great "golden signboard" of Chinese Medical Team ,there are many foreign aid chefs like Pan Feng who quietly stick to it, work and contribute themselves. Through three meals a day, they try their best to build a warm home for the team members from thousands of miles away, so that the team members can successfully complete the foreign aid task.
